Abstract:
The complex compounds of Zn2+, Cd2+, Hg2+ with pentafluorothiophenol (HA) and 2,3,5,6-tetrafluoro-4-(trifluoromethyl)-thiophenol (HB) of the formulas MA2 and MB2 have been obtained. Their properties were investigated by means of thermal analysis, X-ray diffraction, vapour phase osmometry and IR-spetroscopy. MA2 and MB2 are monomeric in the acetone solutions. The M-S frequencies are found to lie at 278 (ZnA2), 246 (ZnB2), 239 (CdA2), 227 (CdB2), 225 (HgA2) and 193 cm-1 (HgB2). The Hg2+ complexes are volatile under 4-6.10(-2) Torr pressure and 100-160-degrees-C temperature.
