Abstract:
Reactions of trans-4-hydroxymethyl-2-carene with aliphatic aldehydes over askanite-bentonite clay result in formation of various heterocyclic compounds, including those containing previously unknown frameworks. Possible mechanisms of these transformations are discussed.
