Abstract:
The reaction of aliphatic 1,2-bishydroxylamines with 1,3-ketoaldehydes generated in situ in acidic media leads to 2-acylmethylene-1-hydroxyimidazolidines, a new class of cyclic ketene N-hydroxyaminals.
