Abstract:
The stoichiometry and thermal, kinetic, and thermodynamic stability of fluorinated graphite inclusion compounds with acetonitrile C2F x, where 0.5 < x < 1.0, were studied as dependent on the composition (architecture) of the matrix using physicochemical methods (DTA, X-ray crystallography, calorimetry, IR spectroscopy). Under isothermal conditions (25°C) and for 0.7 < x < 1.0, the properties intrinsic to the inclusion compound based on the limiting matrix composition C2F (digraphite monofluoride) dominate. The monotone trends of most of the properties studied indicate the berthollide character of partially fluorinated graphite and its inclusion compounds. Copyright © 2005 by Pleiades Publishing, Inc.
