Abstract:
The magnitude and the dispersion of the cubic susceptibility of pseudoisocyanine Jaggregates entrapped in polyvinylpyrrolidone thin films have been determined. |X(3)(γ and X(3)(Δγ)| have been measured by four-wave mixing in both degenerate and non-degenerate cases. Z-scan technique was used to separate the Re(3)(X) and Im(3)(A) contributions to the absolute value of |X(3)|.|X(3)| was found to be ~(2 % 6) 10-6 esu and the relaxation time was 10-13-10-12 s. © 1996 Nonlinear Optics of Low-Dimensional Structures and New Materials.
