Abstract:
Macrocyclization of 1,3-bis(3-hydroxytetrafluorophenoxy)tetrafluorobenzene with perfluoro-{ptm}-xylene, pentafluoronitrobenzene, and pentafluorobenzonitrile in acetonitrile in the presence of triethylamine afforded the corresponding polyfluorinated A(3)B tetraoxacalix[4]arenes in good yields.
