Abstract: Successive interaction of pentafluorobenzonitrile with resorcinol, orcinol and tetrafluororesorcinol in Et3N-CH3CN system gives fluorinated tetraoxacalix[4]arenes ABAB and ABAC type in a good yield. Further reaction of obtained products with new additional equivalent of tetrafluororesorcinol or orcinol leads to the formation of the fluorine-containing bicyclooxacalixarenes. The ESI-MS method shows the possibility of fluorinated tetraoxacalixarenes and bicyclooxacalixarenes complexes formation with metal cations.
