Abstract: The reactions of Ar-Se-N=S=N-Se-Ar with SO(2)Cl(2) (as well as with ArSeCl and p-TolICl(2)) and H(2)O gave Ar-SeCl(2)-N=S=N-Se-Ar and [NH(4)](+)[ArSeSO(3)](-) (Se-Bunte salts), respectively, whose structures were confirmed by X-ray diffraction.
