Abstract: Studies by differential thermal analysis, X-ray structure analysis, and the Schreinemakers, visual-polymetric, gravimetric, and isopiestic methods showed that the digraphite fluoride (host)-acetonitrile (guest) system contained three clathrate phases with translation periods I (c) = 9.47, 15.52, and 27.7 angstrom, which incongruently decomposed at 373.6, 430.1, and 530 K, and solid solutions based on the fluorinated matrix (I (c) approximate to 6.05 angstrom). Low-temperature phase transitions were observed for the guest component and inclusion compounds. The activation energy of decomposition of the first-stage intercalate to a second-stage compound and gaseous acetonitrile was found to be 51.0 kJ/mol.
