Abstract: The chemical composition of the essential oil from the roots of Angelica sylvestris L. was studied. The structure of the major component, the tricyclic hydroazulene sesquiterpene (+)-globulol, which was isolated from a natural object for the first time, was established based on X-ray diffraction analysis.
