Abstract: FTIR spectra suggest that ionization of 2-exo-chloro-2-methylbenzonorbornene dagger in an SbF5 matrix at -196 degrees C leads to 2-methyl-2-benzonortricyclyl cation which rearranges into a partially pi-bridged 2-methyibenzonorbornen-2-ylion at -123 degrees C.
