Abstract: The reaction of salicylaldehyde with some dienes and hydroxyolefins of natural origin on the askanite-bentonite clay under mild conditions was shown to lead to a double heterocyclization forming compounds with the xanthene framework. condensed with tetrahydropyran or tetrahydrofuran rings.
