Abstract: Study of the structure of the medicines containing colloidal silver: well-known medical medicines collargol and protargol, new medicine developed by Institute of High Molecular Compounds of the USSR Academy of Sciences (St. Petersburg) poviargol and citrate colloidal silver was carried out applying a number of physico-chemical methods. It was found that the clusters with a size approximately 1-2 nm predominate in medicines with low silver content (about 7 % wt.) protargol and poviargol. These clusters can be oxidized by oxygen of air. The increase of silver concentration in the medicine (50 % wt. in citrate and 77 % wt. in collargol) results in the increase of the contribution of the silver particles of larger sizes.
