Abstract:
New indonaphthols dyes with arylsulfonyl group in position 2 were synthesired by the reaction of N-aryl-5-hydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinone-4-imines with arylsulfonilic acids. These colorants were found to absorb at much longer wavelengths (50-80 nm) than the parent dyes. Some of them have good characteristics for the use as optical storage media.
