Abstract: The previously unknown classes of fluoroorganoboron compounds, lithium perfluoroorganotrimethoxyborates Li [RFB(OCH3)3] (RF = C2F5, CF2=CF and C6F5), were prepared by the nucleophilic addition of RFLi to B(OCH3)3 in ether. The Li [RFB(OCH3)3] salts contain no ether coordinated at Li+ and are stable at room temperature towards elimination. In solution they show a differentiated behaviour of protodeborylation.
