Abstract: A series of poly(naphthylimide)s was prepared on the basis of dianhydride of naphthalene-1,4,5,8-tetracarboxylic acid and specific diamines. The diamines are responsible for the larger difference between the softening and degradation temperatures and the solubility of the polymers in organic solvents.
