Abstract: A study has been made of the effect of fluorine atoms inserted into the benzene ring and affecting the polymerization of compounds of this type in a glow discharge. Comparative data were obtained for benzene, fluorobenzene, m- and p-difluorobenzene, 1,3,5-trifluorobenzene, 1,2,3,5-tetrafluorobenzene, pentafluorobenzene and hexafluorobenzene. The synthesized polymers were identified by infrared and by elemental microanalysis. Assumptions about the mechanism of formation of these polymers were made. © 1984.
