Abstract:
This review analyzes works devoted to the study of the reactivity of terpenoids and their analogues in an `organized media' both by adsorption on solid catalysts and by photochemical - complex formation with cyclodextrins. The work shows the use of an `organized medium' to provide not only better ecological characteristics of already well-known processes involving natural substrates, but also, owing to the special features of the latter, conformational mobility and polyfunctionality. This offers wide possibilities for revealing inordinate transformations, and consequently a wider outlook for the use of `renewable raw materials' in fine organic synthesis.
