Abstract: Aminomethylation of lambertianic acid under classical conditions of the Mannich reaction and reactions of lambertianic acid and its esters with methylenediamines and acetyl chloride lead to formation of the corresponding 16-aminomethyl derivatives. Structurally related products are also formed by reductive amination of 16-formyllambertianic acid.
