Abstract:
The diamagnetic complexes [NiL](NO3)2 (I) and [NiL](ClO4)2·2H2O (II) and paramagnetic complex CoL(NO3)2·H2O (III), where L is an optically active dioxatetraazamacrocyclic ligand based on a natural monoterpene, (+)-3-carene, were synthesized. According to X-ray diffraction, the structure of I is ionic. In the complex cation, the NiN4 coordination core is a tetrahedrally distorted square formed through coordination of the tetradentate ring-forming ligand L. Complex II contains a similar coordination core. According to the data of UV and IR spectroscopy, the Co coordination polyhedron in III is a N4O2 octahedron.
