Abstract: Epoxidation of beta-pinene with 35-38% aqueous hydrogen peroxide in a new catalytic system containing manganese sulfate, salicylic acid, sodium bicarbonate and polar solvent (DMF, acetonitrile, methanol) is described. The method of quantitavive determination of beta-pinene and its epoxide is developed.
