Abstract:
l-Methylene-2,3,4,4,5,6-hexamethyl-2,5-cyclohexadiene and 2,3,4,4,5,6-hexamethyl-2,5-cyclohexadienone when heated with Fe(CO)5 are respectively converted to the iron tricarbonyl complexes of the isomeric 1-methylene-2,3,4,5,6,6-hexamethyl-2,4-cyclohexadiene and 2,3,4,5,6,6-hexamethyl-2,4-cyclohexadienone. The mechanisms of the rearrangements are discussed. © 1974 Consultants Bureau.
