Abstract: Employing the NMR method it was shown that the 9,9,10-triethylphenanthrenonium ion undergoes rapid automerization as the result of intramolecular transitions of the ethyl group between the C9 and C10 atoms. The kinetics of the automerization was studied. © 1971 Consultants Bureau.
