Abstract: [Mn-2(C11H13N3O)(6)(H2O)(2)][Cr(NH3)(2)(NCS)(4)](4) (I) has been synthesized by the reaction between MnCl2 center dot H2O, NH4[Cr(NH3)(2)(NCS)(4)] center dot 0.5H(2)O and 4-aminoantipyrine (C11H13N3O) in an aqueous solution, and its structure has been determined by IR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. Crystals of complex I are triclinic, space group , Z = 1, a = 13.2378(5) , b = 15.7796(5) , c = 16.7703(6) , alpha = 83.194(2)A degrees, beta = 75.874(2)A degrees, gamma = 66.529(1)A degrees, V = 3115.2(2) (3), and rho(calcd) = 1.407 g/cm(3).
