Abstract: The reaction of polyfluoroaromatic organozinc compounds with oxalyl chloride in DMF proceeds involving the Vilsmeier-Haack reagent with the formation of polyfluoroaromatic aldehydes as the major products. The use of CuI makes it possible to increase the yield of the target aldehydes.
