Morpholino nucleoside triphosphates (A, U, G, C, T) bearing the active functional amino group tethered to morpholine residue and their fluorescently labeled derivatives were synthesized. All compounds were characterized by H-1, C-13, and P-31 NMR, and mass spectrometry. A possibility of using fluorescently labeled morpholino nucleoside triphosphates as chain terminators in DNA sequencing is discussed.
