Abstract:
The reactivity of 1-nitropentane and 1-nitrooctane in supercritical isopropanol in a flow reactor in the presence of Al2O3 has been studied for the first time. In both reactions, isopropyl esters of respective acids were the main reaction products; their contents increased with increasing temperature. In case of 1-nitrooctane, the reaction mixture contained considerable amount of octanenitrile. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
