Abstract:
The first general methodology has been developed for the synthesis of polyfluoroarenesulfonyl bromides from polyfluoroarenethiols. At heating of polyfluoroarenethiols with a mixture of Br(2) and fuming HNO(3) or Br(2), HNO(3) and H(2)SO(4) polyfluoroarenesulfonyl bromides were obtained in good yields. (C) 2009 Elsevier B.V.
