1. Together with 1,1-H,H-hexafluoroindene, the reaction of 1,3-dichlorooctafluoroindan with Zn in dioxane in the presence of EtOH gave 1-H-heptafluoroindene, in which deuterium exchange takes place with deuteromethanol in the presence of triethylamine. 2. It was discovered that HF catalyzes the isomerization of 1-H-heptafluoroindene to 3-H-hepta-fluoroindene. © 1976 Plenum Publishing Corporation.
