Abstract: Reactions of perfluoro(2-methyl-2-pentene) with isopropylamine and tert-butylamine in acetonitrile in the presence of triethylamine gave, respectively, isopropyl-and tert-butyl(heptafluoro-2-trifluoromethyl-1-pentenylidene)amines which were converted into azetine derivatives. Reactions of perfluoro-(2-methyl-2-pentene) with 2-amino-6-bromobenzothiazole and 2-amino-1-methylbenzimidazole yielded 4,4-difluoroazetine derivatives. Possible reaction pathways, role of triethylamine, and factors influencing the intramolecular nucleophilic cyclization are discussed.
